Title:  Information Technology Tech 1

Reports to Title
Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Setup, maintain and troubleshoot end-user desktop workstations.
  • Provide assistance in moving and re-installing equipment as required.
  • Implement and maintain desktop standards based on Enterprise IT standards.
  • Make recommendations on computer related needs.
  • Maintenance of printers including configurations and malfunctions.
  • Update and install software revisions on desktops as required by Enterprise IT.
  • Assist end users on approved applications as required in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Deliver specified level of support to end users, as agreed and within SLA (Service Level Agreement).
  • Maintain exceptional level of communication with end user.
  • Ability to respond to off hour demands as needed.
  • Individual must be dependable and able to adhere to scheduling demands.
  • Assist with Help Desk responsibilities.
  • Perform and maintain network file server backup tape rotation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • College degree, Technical training/certifications (A+, MCSE, etc.) or equivalent industry related experience.

Experience:

  • Experience working with handheld devices such as Blackberries.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and desktop applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong working knowledge of desktop hardware and peripherals
  • Knowledge of LANs/WANs, TCP/IP, and Active Directory
  • Experience with Remedy and SQL a plus


Title:  Software Engineer II (Web Services Developer)

Reports to Title
Manager, Application Integration

Job Responsibilities
This individual will be a senior member of a development team creating infrastructure Web Service applications as a part of Comcast’s Service-Oriented Architecture platform.

Major Duties:

  • Interacts with Architects and Business Owners to gather and analyze requirements
  • Creates end-to-end system designs that meet business requirements
  • Develops J2EE software applications using SOA and Web Service methodologies.
  • Coding and unit testing of web service applications
  • Develops and documents tools to enhance application development and testing.
  • Support defect analysis and resolution during Quality Assurance test cycle.
  • Participates in writing and executing unit, integration, and system test procedures.
  • Document final program and develop user instructions, software/hardware requirements, program input / outputs and execution / installation steps.
  • Participates in team meetings to discuss approaches to current projects.
  • Complies with all established procedures and policies of Comcast.
  • Participates on 7x24 On-Call Support.
  • Provide final escalation production support for developed applications.
  • Other functions that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science/ Engineering, or equivalent work experience in interface design and implementation
  • At least 5 - 7 years experience in Web Services on a Weblogic 9.2 application server (or equivalent, i.e. WebSphere, JBOSS, etc.) using Java.
  • At least 5 - 7 years experience using Eclipse/BEA Weblogic Workshop.
  • At least 5 - 7 years experience in software development on BEA Weblogic Server 8.1 or above.
  • At least 5 years experience with database programming with Oracle and JDBC.
  • At least 5 - 7 years experience developing Web Service applications using WSDL/SOAP and XML

 Strong working knowledge of the following technologies / products / methodologies:

  • BEA Aqualogic product suite.
  • OO modeling using UML
  • WSDL and XML Schemas
  • Java JDK 1.5 web service annotations
  • LDAP
  • Oracle SQL/PLSQL
  • Ant

Title:  Network Engineer


Reports to Title
Sr. Director, Network Planning and Support

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review requests for WAN connectivity, and developing network designs using technical expertise as well as collaborating with key vendor contacts and Cable Division directors.
  • Act as Tier-2/3 support for any network related issue.
  • Work with other business units (i.e. Ad-sales and Engineering) to assist with the network design to support new products.
  • Provide strategic network direction for the Comcast Divisions.
  • Take a lead role in the design of network architectures. Work with the network team to review new network designs and/or network changes.
  • Provide assistance in troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Use advanced network management tools such as Spectrum, HP Openview, Concord and Ciscoworks 2000 to detect, manage, and escalate abnormal conditions, which would have a negative impact on network performance.
  • Actively manage and configure the Comcast enterprise networking equipment (i.e. Cisco Routers and Switches).
  • Perform network based packet analysis using Network Associate’s Sniffer product.
  • Utilize an enterprise IP management tool (Lucent’s QIP) to manage Comcast’s IP addresses.
  • Process Network change activity, including new installations, upgrades, disconnects, etc.
  • Analyze, develop and maintain full network architecture documentation, including establishment of policy and standards documents.
  • Produce detailed network diagrams using Visio drawing package. These diagrams should be used for supporting the network and planning future architectures.
  • Test and provide feedback on proposed new network diagnostic systems.
  • Perform and communicate routine diagnostic and systems monitoring to Applications managers and /or Project Managers.
  • Provide 7x24 support coverage, when necessary, in out-of-hours maintenance and emergency situations
  • Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electric Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent networking experience.
  • 3 to 5 years experience managing a complex IP network infrastructure.
  • Strong project management skills. Proficient in managing large network designs.
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, VLANs, ATM and Frame Relay.
  • Experience managing enterprise IP addressing schemes.
  • Extensive knowledge of leading vendor equipment such as Cisco Routers and Switches. Experience with Cisco 2600, 3600, 7200 Routers and Cisco 3500, 4000 and 6500 Switches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required in order to work with staff management, including regional technical contacts as well as vendor representatives.
  • Ability to take direction and function as a contributing member in a team environment.
  • Other desirable skills would include, experience with VoIP, Multicast, Content Networking, Firewalls and VPNs.
